About NSER

North and South Esk Regional High School (NSER) is home to 183 students and stands as a proud beacon of school spirit and community pride. Known as the home of the Cobras, NSER brings its students, faculty, and community together with energetic pep rallies, sports events, and a range of academic and cultural celebrations. From the vibrant displays of school achievements to the buzz around upcoming events, there’s an undeniable sense of excitement and camaraderie at NSER.

The pride of our school is deeply rooted in our long history of accomplishments. Our dedicated teachers and administrators work tirelessly to uphold the values of respect, hard work, and inclusivity, creating an environment where every student feels supported and motivated. With over seven decades of history, NSER has seen countless alumni return to share their success stories, serve as mentors, and contribute to the school’s continued growth and success.

What truly sets NSER apart is how we integrate school spirit into everyday life. Students cheer each other on in every aspect, whether it’s in sports, academics, or community service. Clubs like Rotary, Safe Grad, and Student Council thrive at NSER, with students and staff working collaboratively on projects that benefit both the school and the surrounding community. The true spirit of NSER lies not only in our achievements but also in the lasting relationships and meaningful memories that are built throughout the years.

One third of our student population is First Nations, representing the Metepenagiag and Natoaganeg communities, making NSER a diverse and inclusive place where everyone’s background is celebrated and respected.

NSER first opened its doors in the fall of 1951 and held its first graduation class in 1952. Over the years, the school has undergone two major renovations, ensuring that the building continues to serve the needs of its students while maintaining a strong connection to its rich history.

Our mascot, Striker the Cobra, is a symbol of strength, unity, and resilience, representing the spirit that drives our school every day.
